Enhancing the public living condition in the Dodangoda Divisional Secretariat Area by providing services through resource co-ordination and public participation with planning of efficient sustainable development progress.
History of Dodangoda Divisional Secretariat
Dodangoda Divisional Secretariat consist of 45 Grama Niladhari Divisions. The largest grama niladhari division is Nehinna and smallest grama niladhari division is Remunagoda North.
When considering about the history of Dodangoda area, the main road from Kalutara to Matugama is located across the Dodangoda Divisional Secretariat. In past, people who travel by bullock carts, stayed at Dodangoda and they talked so. The place which stay and talk called "DODANA GODA". "DODANA GODA" became "DODANGODA".
According to this reasons, Dodangoda has become a main station Matugama to Colombo road. Now, the main one of inter-change to the Southern Express Way is situated in Dodangoda.
